OK Go – serious geek cred

I’m sure if you are reading this blog, you’re familiar with OK Go by now. Along with being a good band with solid songs, they kind of made their fame through showcasing their creativity on YouTube.

“Oh yeah, they’re that band that did that video on treadmills, right?”, you might say. That’s probably the one that got the most visibility, but as they have matured as a band they’ve continued to make videos with serious geek cred. I was just turned on to their latest video today for a song called “This Too Shall Pass”, and color me absolutely amazed. Good song, I’m going to have to listen to it a few times now without watching the video to pick up on the lyrics and such, because the video itself is simply mesmerizing. I cannot even begin to think of how much work went into putting this amazing Rube Goldberg machine together, or how many takes they needed to get it all in one good take.
