Which candidate gets the World of Warcraft vote?
October 31, 2008 by Andy Martin · Leave a Comment
This being a technology-based blog, I usually steer away from politics. Too messy, and very passionate viewpoints from both sides. I wanted to pass on a great non-partisan video found today based around a machinma (or basically artistic gameplay) video done out of World of Warcraft, interviewing actual gamers on their political preferences in hopes of seeing which way Azeroth would go if they were included in the election. Great video, funny but also interesting to see the diverse views even of the gaming community. Video after the break. Read more
Found trivia fun - The Drake Equation
October 30, 2008 by Andy Martin · Leave a Comment
In doing some research today on astronomical topics, I came across this little gem that is the cornerstone of the belief that extraterrestrial life is out there somewhere - the Drake Equation, named for Frank Drake and published in 1960. It is what tries to estimate the number of possible extraterrestrial civilizations out there that we might come in contact with. The full equation and explanations, as well as the current estimates of the result of the equation, after the break. Read more

Here are your new 2010 Prius pictures!
October 16, 2008 by Andy Martin · Leave a Comment
Our friends over at PriusChat.com posted up some leaked final pictures of the new 2010 Prius. Personally, I think the exterior changes are pretty cool (gets more to the Shuttlecraft look), but I’m still skeptical on the interior changes. The new dashboard display looks cool, but the center console still has me scratching my head so far. More pictures after the break: Read more

Folks from the Prius development team posted the first official teaser for the 2010 Prius on a Prius enthusiast forum I’m a member of, PriusChat. It’s not much yet, not a shot of the car itself, and there’s some discussion as to what exactly it is we’re seeing, though it really boils down to one of two possibilities. Read more
Best. Trailer. Recut. Ever.
October 10, 2008 by Andy Martin · 1 Comment
Okay, okay, so we’ve all seen trailer recuts out there, turning “The Shining” into a romantic comedy, “Sleepless in Seattle” into a horror movie, among many others. Normally, I wouldn’t cover those in my geeky blog here, but this one touched on two great geek franchises - Toy Story 1 & 2 (Pixar animation is awesome) and the audio from the Batman Begins trailer. This is masterfully edited, the best I’ve seen in a long time. Video after the jump, enjoy! Read more
